One of the most important things you can do for yourself is counting your blessings. It puts you in a positive mindset and releases stress, Remember, what you focus on, you find! If you are going over and over what is wrong or bad in your life will cause more of the same to appear, whereas, if you concentrate on the good things...more of those will come to you.
I have been doing this for several decades. Because there is a connection between your hand and your head, it is good to write them down. I use a inexpensive journal and write down 10 things every day. In my darkest times, I was being thankful for the sun coming up and for the birds singing...but, I found 10 every day! Some days they were the same as the day before, but I kept at it.
You can start with "I am thankful for" or "I am grateful for" or just "thank you for". But give it a try, you might just be surprised at how helpful this can be!
And remember to be kind to yourself and be kind to others!
